Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and from my earliest days of riding, to years spent training and working internationally, my journey has always been guided by one belief.....to live and work in harmony with horses.
I have been privileged to work with, learn from and train with some of the world's top riders, trainers and Classical Dressage Masters, including Olympic dressage, eventing and show jumping legends. These experiences have shaped my philosophy - blending the Classical Dressage principles with an understanding of competition performance, equine psychology, rehabiliation and holistic well-being.
My equestrian journey began at the age of five (a long long time ago...!) I was lucky to have my mum Patsy, as my first teacher, and as a passionate and incredibly talented horsewoman herself, she taught me more than just how to ride sympathetically and effectively, from her I also learned how to understand horses and how to truly connect and value them. By the age of ten I was competing successfully, often in adult classes, but for me ribbons were never the goal. What mattered most was the bond I built with each horse. At this time I also began reading the works of Alois Podhajsky and Nuno Oliviera, whose teachings still influence me today.
I have always aspired to maintain the highest standards in my work and connection with any horse I have worked with.
I have been privileged to work with, learn from and train with some of the world's top riders, trainers and Classical Dressage Masters, including Olympic dressage, eventing and show jumping all round equestrian Legends -Robin Leylend, Janet Sturrock FBHS and Di Lampard while also attending clinics with Ginny Leng (Holgate), Yogi Breisner and Lucinda Green, Carl Hester and Emile Faurie. These experiences have shaped my philosophy – blending Classical Dressage/Equitation principles with an understanding of competition performance, equine psychology, rehabilitation and holistic well-being.
I have worked for Three Day Eventing World and Olympic Champions, Olympic Show jumpers and Dressage Riders, competed in affiliated Dressage, SJ and Eventing, Hunted, Team Chased, Pony Club Championships, Riding Club Championships, Equitation, managed studs yards, backing young stallions to riding and training advanced competition stallions.
I was manager of an Olympic Dressage Yard in Switzerland for several years and alongside 30 horses and 5 staff I was also responsible for the welfare, riding and training of the Grand Prix and Olympic Dressage Stallions and for several years had the privilege of receiving one to one training with the then, Swiss Olympic team trainer.
I have had a passion for Classical work since I was young, and honoured that my journey has included clinics with Andreas Hausberger from Vienna and also more recently a workshop with Joao Pedro Rodrigues and his chief riders Joao Quintas, Vasco and Carlos from the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, who will be a continuing part of my journey while attending further training in Portugal.
In keeping with the ethos of Classical Dressage, combined with years of international training, and exposure to Olympic level coaching and riding, I bring a distinctive perspective to developing both horses and riders. My passion lies in bringing out the best in every horse -whether in the arena, through rehabilitation, or in overcoming behavioural challenges. Alongside my skills as an equine bodyworker, massage therapist, rehabilitation and behavioural specialist, I guide riders and horses through in-hand and ridden work, biomechanics and rehabilitation.
I have been a freelance teacher and trainer for over 35+ years, with private clients competing successfully in British Dressage, BSJA and BE. I coached for many years with several Pony Clubs in the UK, and teams and individuals reaching the Regionals and Championships. My further training as an Equine Bodyworker and Massage therapist allows me to bring another dimension to helping clients and students understand their horses further and ensure they are receiving all round 5* star care.
My passion is creating connections with harmony, trust, and confidence in every partnership; to train horses with patience, empathy and respect. I believe the horse must always come first.
Each experience has reinforced a simple truth....."we are always learning!"

Through Whispers Horsemanship, I bring together decades of experience in classical training, Olympic and international level advanced competition training, rider coaching, rehabilitation and helping horses and humans build trust, balance and lasting partnerships while reaching their full potential in harmony.
